In May of 2012, Hustad Companies, Inc., a roofing and property management company was attending RECon in Las Vegas and called on Scott Creative to design a series of marketing pieces targeting prospective customers. With 1,000 exhibitors and more than 30,000 in attendance over the course of three days, RECon is one of the largest industry conventions around.
“We had a custom-built trade show booth for our inaugural appearance at RECON in Las Vegas – at a cost of over $40,000. We realized that our existing branding, colors and logo wouldn’t really fit with any of the concepts we were looking at. Scott Creative was able to completely rebrand our company image, from the logo and colors down to the tag line. ” said Spencer L., a consultant for Hustad Companies.
The print pieces integrate Hustad Companies new logo into a folder, double-sided folder inserts, a rack card and business cards. Estimates obtained from printers in Las Vegas showed that printing there was going to be more expensive than anticipated, so each piece was printed locally in Omaha and then shipped to Hustad’s booth at RECon. Printing and shipping took under a week and the deliverables were waiting there for Hustad’s employees when they arrived at RECon.
“We were going to use a printer out of Vegas who was the preferred contractor for the tradeshow, but Scott Creative saved us thousands on printing costs by sourcing locally and utilizing expedited shipping methods.”
This project in particular is a great example of Scott Creative’s ability to provide professionally designed print work on time while also working on the client’s behalf to ensure they’re getting the most out of their print investment.
Spencer L., a friend of mine with a background in commercial and residential real estate, recently approached Scott Creative about designing an identity for his new business venture, Spencer Investments. After researching other brokerages’ identity design approach, we decided on a simple, elegant identity that aims to establish a sense of trust and experience in the brokerage & investment services Spencer provides.
The logo combines an uppercase ‘S’ and ‘I’ within a larger polygon representing a keystone: an architectural reference to residential and commercial real estate. Additional line work applied to the letterforms gives them some depth, resulting in a chiseled look. The type centered below the image is set in Adobe Caslon Pro, an attractive serif font that ties in well to the services provided by the company.
In September 2011, Scott Creative was contacted by Scottsdale Segway Tours to bring a face to the newly formed business. Operating in the city of Scottsdale, Arizona, this company provides exciting mobile tours of some of the most notorious tourist attractions in the Scottsdale area. What the founders needed was a logo that reflected the fun experience that customers can expect from Scottsdale Segway Tours.
After exploring several visual interpretations, the final design utilizes a circular badge, clean typography, a strongly contrasting color palette and an abstracted figure in the center. It’s a modern and sporty logo that will entice viewers to take a closer look at Scottsdale Segway Tours for their next outdoor adventure. While working remotely comes with its challenges, Scott Creative bridged the gap by providing quality work and a high degree of customer service.
“We are beyond excited with the work Scott Creative has done for us. Scott Creative can handle remote clients and turn out excellent work. We will continue to go Scott Creative for all of our design needs.” (Becca Cook, Business Relations, Scottsdale Segway Tours)
The company logo appears throughout their website, http://www.scottsdalesegwaytours.com and on the company trailer as well. Scott Creative also designed additional collateral pieces, including company business cards and a rack card that provides more information for tourists in the Scottsdale area.
Impressions by Kathleen specializes in unique maternity, birthing, newborn, family, senior and wedding photography. After helping Kathleen bring a face to her brand with a new logo earlier this year, I recently wrapped up designs for a poster, rack card and vehicle graphics. In addition to the design itself, Scott Creative also developed the copy for each piece.
The copy reads: “Specializing in unique maternity, birthing, newborn, family, senior and wedding photography, Impressions by Kathleen puts the wow factor in life’s most precious moments. Our photography packages give you the choice to print as you wish for memories that last a lifetime! To book an appointment or request more information, contact us today!”
The posters, rack cards and rack card displays were printed by Digital Express, a digital printing shop in Omaha, Nebraska.
In March 2011, Scott Creative was contacted by Ryan, owner of RC Remodeling, a residential restoration/remodeling business based in Omaha, Nebraska. Ryan approached us to design his newly formed business’ logo and a basic identity package. It was important to Ryan that his logo present his business as a professional, reliable source in the eyes of his customers, and accomplish that goal, we agreed that a cleanly designed, simple and contemporary logotype was the right solution.
The design process consisted of researching how similar businesses have branded themselves, finding our approach and then presenting Ryan with a series of comps that addressed the goals outlined in project. The logotype’s construction called for a contemporary sans-serif typeface that works well in various applications. Deciding on the Museo typeface, we then created a series of design concepts utilizing transparency and overlay as contemporary design elements.
After choosing one logotype for further development, we then implemented combinations of contemporary colors before arriving at this design. The finalized logotype scales nicely and works well across various platforms, whether in print or on-screen. The logotype, typefaces and additional branding elements are integrated into both a business card and a letterhead.
