Steve Jobs, the charismatic, innovative CEO of Apple passed away earlier this month at the age of 56. Jobs, who battled a rare form of pancreatic cancer for several years, will undoubtedly be remembered as one of the great visionaries of our age.
His contributions to Apple, beginning with the Apple I in 1976 and recent innovations such as the iMac, iPhone and iPad haven’t just changed the way we compute – these products changed the way we live our lives. Jobs’ love of design is evident in the products that he helped engineer: form and function culminate in products that perform as beautifully as they look.
Jobs stepped down as CEO of Apple in August 2011, hand-picking Tim Cook as his replacement. The current CEO of Apple expresses the loss eloquently: “Apple has lost a visionary and creative genius, and the world has lost an amazing human being. Steve leaves behind a company that only he could have built, and his spirit will forever be the foundation of Apple,”
